Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel vulnerable, and everyone deserves a provider who listens, respects their story, and advocates for their well-being. Shyra strives to create a space where people of all identities and backgrounds feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Patients often describe Shyra as approachable, empathetic, and easy to talk to. While mental health work can be serious, she believes there is also room for honesty, curiosity, and a little humor along the way. Outside of work, Shyra enjoys reading, traveling, baking, gardening, and creative projects.

Treatment Approach

Her approach to care is collaborative and holistic, with a focus on understanding the full picture of a person’s life in order to find treatments that meaningfully improve day-to-day well-being. She provides medication management for conditions including PTSD, anxiety disorders, OCD, mood disorders, and ADHD. When additional support would be beneficial, she coordinates closely with colleagues within the practice who provide psychotherapy, ketamine therapy, and TMS to ensure care remains integrated and comprehensive.

Shyra is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of nursing experience, including a background in emergency medicine.
